Foreword
No business can have failed to realise the increasing impact that China is having on the global economy. China is a vast and emerging market, with huge commercial potential attracting business visitors from all over the world. Having experienced many facets of the Anglo Chinese business world from both sides, our editorial team observed the disorientation that many delegates can face on their travels. As such, we identified a need for easily-digestible information to help businesspeople navigate through any problems they are likely to face in a new culture.
Whilst there has been a smattering of travel books and business guides on China and the UK, we noticed that there was no single volume that provided a comprehensive guide to doing business in either country in an easy-to-carry format. Thus, the idea for the business travel handbooks to China and the UK was born. The books have been compiled through our network of business and market research contacts, all of whom have a business background in at least one of the two countries.
This edition is tailored for both businesspeople going to China for the first time and for the more seasoned business traveller. As such, it includes a combination of new, up-to-date figures and a quick refresher on the information that will always be relevant to the Anglo Chinese business traveller. To ensure that the book constantly meets our readers' business and travel needs, it will be updated annually. During the evolution of the guide, we would love to share experiences with you and start to foster mutually beneficial relationships, building our own Anglo Chinese community. So, any comments and suggestions would be genuinely welcome and should be forwarded to the Editor on e-mail Guide@activeukchina.com.
